So you want to go on the run? Tips and tricks if you want to be #HUNTED
Posted on 17 February 2017
If you're considering apply for the next season of HUNTED, do it! It's truly a once in a lifetime experience. When I first came across the posting for the show, I didn't tell Red. Once we got a few call backs and we needed to make our audition video, I decided I should probably fill him in on what I did. Ask for forgiveness not permission, right? I knew he would be down so it wasn't much of a risk. I have a few tips for my fellow fugitive who may be thinking about "going on the run"...
- Get yo mind right. But, for real. At the end of the day, it's a massive mind game, if you're not zoned in you'll have a come apart Day 4 when realizing you've eaten through your 28 day supply of pop tarts already.
- Pack smart. I'll make a confession but let me finish before throwing up the "I told you so's". Screw the curling iron... but TAKE A STRAIGHTENER. I was not blessed with hair that can air dry and semi decent. My nickname in Middle School was (Marilyn) Manson (thanks Carrie Harris) because of my frizzy hair. I had to bring one, so if you're one of those and can't shake the thought of 13 million people seeing your hair look like a Q tip then embrace that extra pound of metal and tell the world to suck it (twitter trolls). Pack snacks, a water bottle with a water filter, maps (all of them, seriously ALL OF THEM ), a tent and a book.
-Have a heart to heart with your partner. Before Red + I left we (he) had numerous conversations about not doing that wide eyed thing I do when annoyed on national television because you know they'll make that a commercial (insert blurred face commercial here). But seriously, stress is high and emotions are about as stable as a 13 yr old girl so talk about that BEFORE they stick a microphone on you.
-HAVE A BLAST! Seriously. Go full throttle and don't play it safe. You will regret it later. Take risk, jump in a trunk or high tail it through 46 acres of brush during rattlesnake season. You won't regret it!
